Visual process overview

A clear view of the three-stage transaction

The process begins with inbound weighing, continues through measured oil transfer, and ends with outbound reconciliation and automatic ERP handover.

Three connected stages: inbound truck registration and weighing, live oil transfer measurement, and outbound reconciliation with cloud and SAP data transfer.
The challenge

Remove uncertainty from every truck transaction

Traditional weighbridge and oil intake processes can depend on manual identification, manual data entry and before/after weight comparisons. This creates opportunities for transcription errors, mismatched records and limited visibility into the actual unloading process.

The project objective

Create one automated chain of custody from arrival to ERP — with fewer manual touchpoints, more precise oil measurement and real-time operational visibility.

The solution

One connected system from gate to SAP

The Manomay solution connects license plate recognition, weighbridge data, truck routing, oil-intake measurement, analytics and SAP into one automated transaction workflow.

01 / IDENTIFY

Automatic truck identification

Dual-camera ANPR verifies the license plate and links the truck to current and historical records.

02 / MEASURE

Stable weight capture

The system waits for three consistent weight readings before accepting the transaction value.

03 / ROUTE

Smart workflow selection

Truck data is used to automatically direct vehicles to normal cargo or oil-intake processing.

04 / MONITOR

Continuous oil intake measurement

Oil quantity, flow, temperature and density are monitored throughout the unloading process.

05 / ANALYSE

Efficiency & anomaly detection

The system compares measured oil with expected oil and exposes discrepancies as they occur.

06 / INTEGRATE

Automatic SAP transfer

Completed transaction data is formatted and sent to SAP without manual re-entry or export.

HMI interface

Operators work with a clear live interface

The HMI provides a direct view of the tanks, buffer vessel, flow status and control actions. It gives operators a simple way to start the process, switch modes and monitor the live state of the installation.

Visual status Tank-by-tank visibility with live process state indicators.
Operator control Supports start/stop actions, alarms and manual mode where required.
Process context Keeps the physical installation visible rather than hiding it behind raw numbers only.

System capabilities

Automation with built-in intelligence

The system does more than digitise the weighbridge. It validates, measures, compares, predicts and automatically synchronises the complete transaction.

01

Fully automated three-step transaction process

Each truck passes automatically through arrival weighing, unloading and departure weighing. Transaction data is synchronised to the central database every 30 seconds without manual intervention.

No paperwork, no skipped process steps and full visibility of each transaction.
02

Dual-camera license plate recognition

Two cameras independently read the license plate and compare confidence levels. When one reading is uncertain, the second provides automatic verification.

Improves identification reliability in difficult lighting or weather conditions.
03

Stable and accurate weight capture

The weighbridge interface waits for three consistent readings within a defined tolerance before accepting the weight.

Reduces unstable readings and eliminates manual transcription.
04

Dedicated oil-truck workflow

For oil deliveries, the workflow extends beyond gross and tare weighing. The system also measures the oil that physically passes through the unloading line into storage.

Provides a measured oil quantity rather than relying only on gross-versus-tare difference.
05

Automatic cargo / oil intake detection

Current transaction data and historical truck information are used to determine the correct handling route.

Useful for sites handling regular cargo and oil deliveries through separate processes.
06

Live operational dashboard

Operators can see operating time, total oil processed, active trucks and unloading efficiency at a glance.

Makes daily performance visible without manually compiling reports.
07

Automatic data population

License plate, gross weight, timestamps and truck ID flow directly from the weighbridge and ANPR system into the oil intake record.

Reduces mismatched records and transcription errors between systems.
08

Truck analytics & arrival prediction

The system analyses tare-weight consistency, visit patterns and historical behaviour to estimate the truck's next expected arrival.

Supports planning for staffing, maintenance and unloading capacity.
09

Automatic SAP integration

Gross weight, tare weight, measured oil quantity, timestamps and license plate data are automatically prepared for SAP. The workflow can distinguish loading from unloading and support configurable batch export.

Keeps ERP information current while eliminating double data entry.
Live dashboard monitoring

Operational visibility beyond the weighbridge

The monitoring layer gives plant teams a continuous view of oil transfers, intake performance, density trends and day-to-day throughput.

Overview of runtime, processed oil, truck count and transfer efficiency.
Dashboard showing oil intake details and transfer metrics
Individual transfer details including discrepancy, flow, temperature and density.

Operational intelligence

Measure more than weight

Continuous process data gives operators a better view of unloading performance and the physical characteristics of each oil delivery.

Unloading efficiency & anomaly alerts

The system compares measured oil against expected or invoiced quantities and displays discrepancies in kilograms alongside live flow information.

  • Measured versus expected oil
  • Discrepancy in kg
  • Real-time flow rate
  • Immediate anomaly visibility

Temperature & density monitoring

Temperature and density are recorded throughout unloading. Additional quality parameters can be integrated when required.

  • Continuous temperature tracking
  • Continuous density tracking
  • Optional viscosity measurement
  • Optional water-content measurement
Quality assurance

From small samples to a full-load quality picture

Continuous monitoring throughout unloading can reveal variation that a single sample from the top of a tanker may not show.

Tamper-resistant process

By minimizing manual intervention from weighing through data reporting, the system creates a tightly controlled transaction chain and reduces opportunities for manipulation.

Quality scan throughout

Density is monitored while the entire truckload passes through the intake system, providing a broader view of product consistency across the delivery.

Graphical adulteration visibility

Density variance over the course of a transfer can be visualised in system-generated reports, helping operators identify unusual product behaviour.

Business impact

Protecting a critical raw-material investment

Accurate quantity measurement and continuous quality monitoring turn the intake process into both an operational control and a financial safeguard.

30–35%

Edible oil can represent a major share of raw-material cost

In the project description, edible oil is estimated at approximately 30–35% of total raw-material cost in the food industry. Improving confidence in quantity and quality therefore has a direct relationship to financial control and potential return on investment.

A smarter intake process

Connect weighing, intake, quality and ERP.
